Adding a layer of non-woven fabric to the PP honeycomb core has the following benefits:
- Enhanced structural stability: Non-woven fabric can increase the flatness and uniformity of the honeycomb core surface, so that the honeycomb core can disperse stress more evenly when subjected to external forces, reduce the possibility of local deformation and damage, and thus improve the stability and bearing capacity of the entire structure.
- Increase glue attachment area: Non-woven fabric has a porous, fiber-interwoven structure with a large surface area. Compared with the smooth surface of the PP honeycomb core, non-woven fabric can provide more attachment points for glue, so that the glue can better penetrate and adhere between the fibers, thereby increasing the contact area between the glue and the material and improving the bonding effect.
- Buffering glue shrinkage stress: During the curing process of glue, a certain degree of shrinkage usually occurs. Non-woven fabric has a certain degree of flexibility and elasticity, which can buffer the shrinkage stress generated when the glue is cured to a certain extent. This helps to reduce the risk of cracking or debonding of the bonding interface due to glue shrinkage, and improve the durability and fatigue resistance of the bonded joint.
- Improved bonding strength: The composite structure of non-woven fabric and PP honeycomb core can make the glue have better bonding performance by increasing the adhesive adhesion area, improving the uniformity of glue distribution and buffering shrinkage stress, thereby significantly improving the bonding strength. Whether under static or dynamic loads, it can make the bonding part more solid and less prone to damage.
