PU Foam Galvanized Steel Sandwich Panels

Home » Materials » PU Sandwich Panels

PU foam galvanized steel sandwich panels consist of a rigid polyurethane (PU) foam core sandwiched between two galvanized steel sheets. The zinc coating surface increases the durability and corrosion resistance of the steel sheets, while the polyurethane foam provides excellent thermal insulation. Compared to injection molded foam sandwich panels, PU foam composite sandwich panels are stronger and have a flatter surface, suitable for a wider range of applications.

Galvanized Steel Sheets

Galvanized steel sheets have been coated with a layer of zinc to protect them from corrosion. This coating is typically applied through a process called hot-dip galvanizing, where the steel is immersed in molten zinc. Galvanized steel sheets are widely used in various industries due to their strength, durability, and resistance to rust. Steel sheets coated with a mixture of zinc (Zn) and aluminum (Al), known as Galvalume steel, have superior corrosion resistance compared to conventional galvanized steel, especially at high temperatures and in harsh environmental conditions.

  • Thickness: 0.2mm – 6.0mm.
  • Width: 600mm – 1500mm.
  • Zinc Coating Weight: Z40, Z60, Z80, Z100, Z120, Z180, Z275.
  • Spangle Types: Normal Spangle; Minimized Spangle; No Spangle.
  • Tensile Strength: 270-500 MPa.
  • Yield Strength: 140-360 MPa.

PU Foam Core

Closed-cell rigid polyurethane foam is a material with excellent thermal insulation performance and has the lowest thermal conductivity among conventional foams.

  • Density: 28-50 kg/m³.
  • Thermal Conductivity: 0.020-0.030 W/m·K.
  • Compression Strength: 200-600 kPa.
  • Water Absorption: < 1%.
  • Hardness: 25-70 Shore A.
  • Bending Strength: 200-500 kPa.

Applications

The combination of polyurethane (PU) foam and prepainted galvanized steel sheets make these panels highly effective in maintaining temperature control, resisting environmental elements, and providing structural integrity. They are often used in applications that require thermal insulation, such as the construction of walls, roofs, and cold storage facilities. Such as:

  • Refrigeration and Freezing Facilities: Cold rooms, cold storage warehouses and industrial refrigeration plants.
  • Modular Buildings: Offices, shelters, temporary housing or portable cabins.
  • Indoor Buildings: Clean rooms and laboratories, etc.
