GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) sheets are easy to cut, punch and form, and can meet the complex needs of ship design and construction. At the same time, it should also have good surface treatment properties to facilitate painting, spraying or adding other materials. It is usually used as the outer protective layer of sandwich panels for facilities on yachts, cruise ships, sightseeing houses, cruise ships, etc., such as wall panels, floors, ceilings, partitions, floors, cabinets, etc. The marine environment has very strict performance requirements for glass GRP sheets, and must cope with harsh conditions such as high-salinity seawater corrosion, humid climate, and strong ultraviolet radiation.
To ensure the long-term stability of ship facilities in the marine environment, GRP needs to have the following characteristics:
High strength and rigidity
GRP sheets also need to have good compressive resistance to avoid deformation or damage under external forces.
Corrosion resistance
Ships sail in the marine environment, and the seawater contains salt, microorganisms and other corrosive factors. GRP sheets need to have excellent seawater corrosion resistance to avoid aging, corrosion or performance degradation of materials during long-term use.
Thermal stability and high temperature resistance
On ships, GRP sheets may be exposed to high temperature environments, and they should have good high temperature resistance to avoid deformation or performance degradation.
Weather resistance
Strong ultraviolet radiation in the marine environment may cause the GRP surface to deteriorate and become brittle. GRP should have good UV resistance to avoid fading and loss of strength.

These GRP sheets are treated with the following processes to achieve more stable performance
- Anti-aging treatment
By adding UV stabilizers or coating treatment, the weather resistance of GRP under strong UV rays is improved to avoid aging and discoloration of the material.
- Fireproof treatment
For the special application environment of ships, flame retardants are added to ensure the safety of GRP sheets under high temperature or fire conditions.
