PU Foam FRP Sandwich Panels

Home » Materials » PU Sandwich Panels

Composite sandwich panels made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and rigid polyurethane (PU) foam are a high-performance insulation material. The sandwich panels combine the light weight and excellent thermal insulation properties of polyurethane foam with the high strength and durability of FRP, making them a highly reliable material for thermal insulation applications. Unlike the manufacturing process of spray foam sandwich panels, they are bonded with adhesives and then laminated in a press.

Product Features

Lightweight and High Strength

The low density of PU foam makes the entire sandwich panel very light, while the high strength of FRP provides excellent structural support.

Excellent Thermal Insulation Performance

PU foam is recognized as an excellent thermal insulation material with low thermal conductivity, which can effectively reduce heat conduction and ensure the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor.

Corrosion Resistance and Durability

FRP has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of acids, alkalis, salts and other chemicals. It also has good weather resistance and UV resistance, ensuring the long-term service life of sandwich panels in harsh environments.

High Impact Resistance

PU foam has a certain buffering capacity, which can absorb and disperse impact energy, while FRP provides additional structural strength, making the sandwich panel as a whole have good impact resistance.

Waterproof and Moisture-proof

The closed-cell structure of PU foam makes its water absorption rate extremely low, which can prevent moisture penetration and maintain the structural integrity of the board. It is suitable for use in humid environments, such as marine buildings and underground facilities.

02 FRP Facing

Flat FRP panel is a high-strength material made of glass fiber and resin matrix through a composite process. It has excellent characteristics such as light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance and aging resistance. The surface of FRP can be processed into different colors and textures to meet the aesthetic and practical needs of different application fields.

Applications

Polyurethane foam FRP sandwich panels are used as wall panels, partition walls, and roof panels for various insulation facilities, such as:

  • Refrigerated Truck Bodies.
  • RV Panels.
  • Cold Rooms.
  • Refrigerated Containers.
  • Prefab Housing.
  • Temporary Shelters.
  • Boat and Yacht Construction.
  • Cooling towers.
  • Clean rooms.
  • Insulation rooms.

Production and Processing

We are the leading FRP sandwich panel manufacturer in China, providing building solutions for thermal insulation boxes. Our factory is equipped with industry-leading composite panel production lines with unique production processes to meet users’ high standards of quality demands. The size of the composite panel can reach 12mx3.2m. (The current maximum size of the container is 40 feet (12.03 meters)

Embedded Structural Parts

  • Embedding frame structural parts such as metal, wood, and fiberglass to enhance strength.

One-piece Vacuum Composite Process

  • The sandwich panel is laminated under high pressure in a vacuum environment. The surface of the panel after molding is flat, tightly bonded, and the strength is far superior to ordinary composite panels.

High-precision CNC Machining

  • High-precision CNC processing meet any personalized design needs and maintain the consistency of product precision.

We also supply FRP sandwich panels with XPS (Extruded Polystyrene), PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) foam cores. Please consult us for more information about our products.
