Wing opening trucks, often referred to as wing trucks or side-opening trucks, are designed for easy access to cargo through large, hinged or retractable side panels (wings) that open outward. These trucks are typically used in industries where rapid loading and unloading are essential, such as logistics, construction, and transportation of large goods or equipment.
- The side panels of wing-opening trucks open like wings, providing a wide, unobstructed opening on one or both sides of the truck body.
- Wing doors can be operated manually or via a hydraulic system, making them easy to use, especially for larger trucks.
- They allow for easier loading/unloading from the side, making them ideal for tight spaces or areas where traditional rear loading is not possible.
Common Sizes of Wing Opening Truck Bodies
Truck Body Size | Length | Width | Height | Cargo Volume |
---|---|---|---|---|
Standard Wing Truck | 5.0 – 6.0 meters | 2.5 – 2.55 meters | 2.5 – 3.0 meters | 20 – 30 cubic meters |
Large Wing Truck | 6.0 – 7.0 meters | 2.5 – 3.0 meters | 3.0 – 3.5 meters | 30 – 50 cubic meters |
Extra-Large Wing Truck | 7.0 – 8.0 meters | 2.5 – 3.0 meters | 3.5 – 4.0 meters | 50 – 70 cubic meters |
Wing Opening Truck Body Panels
The TOPOLOGROUP wing-opening truck body panels are made of aluminum sandwich panels or FRP sandwich panels, which can bring lightweight to the vehicle and significantly reduce the body weight, thereby improving transportation efficiency and fuel economy. Aluminum sandwich panels have excellent strength and corrosion resistance, which can maintain the stability and durability of the body during long-term use. FRP sandwich panels provide better impact resistance and higher weather resistance, suitable for use in various environmental conditions, especially in severe weather or high humidity environments. Both materials have excellent thermal insulation properties, which can effectively improve the energy efficiency of temperature-controlled bodies (such as refrigerated trucks) and maintain the ideal temperature of goods during transportation. According to different application requirements, different core materials are used for body panels, such as plywood, insulation foam board, honeycomb, etc., to provide the best performance and adaptability.
