描述
FRP facing XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) foam sandwich panels are a popular choice for building off-road trailers due to their excellent properties. These panels are lightweight, have good thermal insulation, and offer strength, making them ideal for various off-road applications.
Structural Diagram

01. Lightweight and strong
- XPS core: The closed-cell XPS foam core provides excellent thermal insulation and is extremely lightweight, which is critical for off-road trailers to remain maneuverable and easy to tow.
- FRP facing: Gelcoat FRP significantly enhances the structural strength of the panels, making them resistant to impact and mechanical stress. This is critical in harsh off-road conditions, where trailers are subject to severe vibrations, bumps, and shocks.
02. Durable and weather-resistant
- Moisture resistance: Both FRP and XPS foam are resistant to water absorption, which means these panels can withstand humid environments, rain, and even snow without degradation. This helps prevent the risk of mold or rot, which are common problems in off-road environments.
- UV resistance: Gelcoat FRP has good UV resistance, which can protect the panels from long-term sun damage. This is critical for outdoor applications that are constantly exposed to the sun.
- Corrosion resistance: Unlike metal facing, FRP will not corrode, making it ideal for use in environments where salt, moisture, or other corrosive elements may be present.
03. Thermal Insulation
XPS foam cores provide excellent thermal insulation, helping to maintain the interior temperature of the trailer. This is especially useful for off-road trailers that may encounter extreme temperatures, whether in cold or hot climates.
04. Low Maintenance
Gelcoat FRP surfaces are easy to clean and maintain. They do not require painting or sealing as frequently as wood or metal, making them a practical choice for long-term off-road use.
